Choosing to Forgive (MH Lesson)
When we are hurt, betrayed, or mistreated, we can end up with a lingering pain we often refer to as bitterness and resentment. These damaging wounds caused by others can fester and become more destructive in our lives. Resentment can damage relationships and rob us of the simple joys of living. Most people have been misused and hurt by others. Painful treatment from others in the past makes mastering the art of forgiveness a necessity to create a healthier future. Forgiveness doesn’t change the past but it can be the single most restorative and beneficial element in reconciliation and personal well-being. This lesson will help you understand what forgiveness is and what it is not. It will help you understand that although trust addresses issues in the future, forgiveness is necessary to address issues of the past.
