Managing Spending and Shopping (MH Lesson) (MEMBER)
Our world provides a never-ending supply of nearly anything we can imagine, making it easy to use shopping as a hobby. And while shopping and purchasing are necessary parts of life, if used to cope with emotional problems and other difficulties, they can become a problem. The ease and availability of on-line shopping can dramatically increase the temptation to spend, and make it easier to hide shopping habits. Shopping may be used as a distraction, entertainment, or coping mechanism. Some people may use their purchases as a way to feel good, get noticed, or in an attempt to buy approval. In this lesson we will explore what leads to compulsive shopping, types of shopping addictions, and offer suggestions and tips on how to change your spending patterns.
