Conquering Self-Sabotaging Views (COD Lesson)
Our behavior is connected to the way we see ourselves. When those views are negative, we can sabotage our lives and recovery. For example, if someone sees themselves as inferior, they may avoid people. Or someone who views themselves as weak may avoid conflict. A distorted view can lead to self-defeating actions. It is important to understand the distortions you hold by looking at opposing views and finding where you fit. We are always moving in the direction we think and speak, so it is important to develop a positive and truthful view of yourself. Examine the connection between behavior and how you see yourself. In this lesson you will rate yourself on nine different qualities and characteristics. You will explore ways to honestly, accurately, and positively improve your self-concept.
